Event Description

Venue: Online & webinars

Course fees: £300 full, £240 concession

People no longer consume media in just one medium, which poses both huge challenges and opportunities for Britain's media workers. The age of the single media specialist is disappearing rapidly, and everyone who works in the media must think about more than one platform when working with content.

360 degree commissioning has moved from being a buzzword to being a reality.

Online journalist and tutor Murray Cox will guide you through this online course with a weekly hour and a half long webinar on Mondays eves (time to be arranged).

The course will cover the new media mindset, writing for online, using social media effectively, monetizing content and IP and includes video interviews with online editors from BBC Scotland, STV and other key media professionals in Scotland.

Who's the tutor?
Murray Cox has been an online journalist since 1998, and has since taught many journalists and media professionals about the development of the internet and the changing media landscape. Murray recently ran the Introduction to Multiplatform for Media Professionals as an evening course at Screen Academy Scotland in Edinburgh.

Who’s this for?
This course aims to equip print and broadcast journalists and other media professionals or anyone interested in using new media effectively with the awareness and skills necessary to work in a converged, multi-platform environment where broadcast, online, print and mobile content channels are produced simultaneously, utilising text, audio, video, graphic and interactive content tools.
