Primetime Factual Opportunities at Channel 4

In response to a question at the Televisual Intelligent Factual Festival Julian Bellamy explained...

The channel is "slightly under-commissioned at 21.00," Bellamy told the Intelligent Factual conference at London's Gibson Hall. However, there are "slightly fewer opportunities" at 20.00, mainly because the shows in that slot have worked well.

Bellamy highlighted doc series The Hospital and ob doc series The Family as good examples of factual that thought outside the box and broke through. Of The Family, he added: "That was a risk - we embarked on the biggest documentary project the channel has ever embarked on."
