Hello
I run a short horror film mobile phone app, Popcorn Horror. Over the next 6 months I will be expanding the channel into a cross platform (tablet, mobile,TV, Online) for short content, feature films with community interaction elements.
I am interested in doing something totally different, much of the motivation for this is that as a filmmaker I do not think the digital space has found a place/system that really works for independent creators in terms of an economy. The freemium model has its limitations and the subscription model is about abstraction and is designed to benefit a few people.
So my question is how do we connect audiences and content creators together in a meaningful and mutually beneficial way?
I am looking at video on demand, wallet systems such as Flatrr http://flattr.com/ and even creating a micro currency as well as looking at developing techs/platforms/interaction and delivery.
It would be great to get as many people as possible involved with the discussion. You can either reply here, send me an e-mail (felix@popcornhorror.com) and I will stick you on the mailing list or interact with out discussion group of Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/PopcornHorror2?ref=ts
