I just wanted to follow up, and endorse Richard's post of yesterday, about the possibility/potential for members of ECM to collaborate/congregate around specific projects that interest them.

Perhaps by forming a sub-group or two, grabbing a booth and hatching plans for world-digital-domination, or simply much more focussed bang-for-buck on a Friday morn.

Initial thoughts are exploring any opportunities around: The Edinburgh Festival, iPhone 3.0 SDK and the SI camp.

(Incidentally, Jon from Civic also made the excellent suggested we have another Beer Evening soon, possibly at Civic's Boardroom. maybe with a blogged for beer sponsor, similar to the Belhaven thing we did at Whitespace what seems like donkey's years ago now.)

So if you fancy more solution-specific ECM's. why not hook up with like-minded ECM'ers and crack on.

Please post here the kind of thing your up to, how you might need any more help/resource etc.

I'd be happy to get involved in one or two things, if appropriate, but to be honest, I do the 'huddled in a booth stuff' for a living most days of the week, and consequently enjoy the serendipitous and slothful appeal of a non-agenda hour or two every Friday morning.

ECM is a broad church, that I hope exemplifies that hoary old, old, but useful cliche: The only rule is that there are no rules.

It can be whatever the crowd who use it, want it to be.

Which, happily, is probably several things at once.

It's a good plan Mike.

But one of the things I like about ECM though is not knowing what I'll be chatting about and who I'll be with.

Perhaps we need to reserve a booth for like minded scatty brains like mine? :s

RE Beer Evening - yes please! That looked a cracking evening. Happy to help if you need it.

I do feel that ECM goers who are looking for more than just a common ground and/or banter should get together and possibly partner up for projects. Should we still have the casual meet up, yes definitely, as I'm with Chris and like to be surprised. Should this be separate booths on Friday mornings? Split the table(s) down the middle. Maybe a sign for each CTA?

How do we know who's looking for what, well now we have Richards discussion for that to take place.

Previously, IMHO, people would meet at ECM and if something came up, they would get together outside of it for business, however, ECM has become so big and there is so much talent there, that it would be a shame to waste the time & opportunity. I'm regurgitating Mike's post now.

I believe someone mentioned we move around like speed dating - but that's not to work on CTA's, just to meet everybody. I'm thinking we should all wear our twestival @badges, so we know who everyone is!

I thought the first rule of ECM was that we must talk about ECM?
