I know John has a number of exciting projects on the go just now... one I'm working on just at UWS (University of Paisley as it was) is an informal summer school to encourage students to use their down time productively and make their own games.
This "UNversity" is off to a fair start with about a couple of dozen students involved already, working on about 6 different projects - and I'll be trying to get more involved.

Im looking for *anything* I can offer as prizes to teams that complete projects (there is a UNversity high score table!) - and also for industry folk willing to pop in of an afternoon and chat with students and perhaps offer a little spot of mentoring.

email me at daniel.livingstone@gmail.com if you think you can help!

Hi John! We are ScottishGames.Net now as opposed to .biz! Give us a try there. The link hasn't been updated here yet for some reason.

BRAND NEW SG.BIZ site now live - and it's on NING. Hurrah. Come and join us, find out more about the business and culture of making, selling (and playing) games in Scotland.

Morning everyone,

Cross posting, just to make sure you get this.

A quick note to say that if you're reading this, you're obviously one of the people who uses the Scottishgames RSS feed, or get the daily e-mail.

Our lovely scottishgames.biz domain is currently offline as service provider 1&1, screws around with, deletes and re-registers all of our domains for some peculiar reason.

(Because they're bloody useless - BB)

They've apologised and started sending though all the various domain updates (including, thankfully, codechix, our forthcoming website showing pretty girls in front of a variety of new and classic programming languages - wait till you see Miss Fortran... Woof!) though they've yet to get to sg.biz

As soon as they do, we're back in business and will be getting the frack on down...

In the meantime, apologies. Please don't leave us.
