Comment by Chris Goodwin on June 14, 2012 at 20:03 Not just charity shops but organisations as well. For example it's a mental health charity that I am doing work for. Hopefully we'll both find work soon.
Comment by michael david arnott on June 14, 2012 at 12:51 aye its horrible trying to find a job these days lol ive done some volenteer work but ill try like you said the charity shops next time i go down the town because at the moment i would do anything to improve my chances
Comment by Chris Goodwin on June 14, 2012 at 9:49 Hi Michael, yeah I'm in the same position as you. I volunteer at a charity helping out with their website and running their film club. Since then the number of job interviews I've had does seem to have increased. Plus it gives me something to do. You should make enquiries in your local area to see if there are any charities needing a hand.
Comment by michael david arnott on June 13, 2012 at 18:50 hi m8 yeah its really frustrating and I went to college for 4 years and I love doing it lol ive done a little freelance but never been payed for anything and competitions although I dont like 99 designs at all I will hapily do volenteer work in spare time as i like a challege

Comment by Chris Goodwin on June 13, 2012 at 18:33 Hi Michael I know exactly how you feel when it comes to employers wanting experience. Have you tried freelancing, entering competitions or doing volunteer work in order to build up your experience and portfolio?
Comment by michael david arnott on June 13, 2012 at 17:12 HI I have been looking for a creative design job for a year now and its murder because you always get the same reply basically saying that you have little experience in a sector it doesn't matter what your quality of work or attention to detail is like I ideally would love to do clothing print design or anything illustrative based or I love to do posters and flyers and would be very excited if I could get into a job somewhere in fife or edinburgh
