Commission available: Design and programming of bespoke display units for hospital exhibition.

This design opportunity constitutes a significant project at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (RHSC) and Department of Neurosciences (DCN) in Edinburgh.

The project brief is for the research, programme development and cabinet specification for a series of bespoke display units and presentation solutions for artefacts which are to be transferred from the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN), the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (RHSC) and the Lothian Health Archive, to the new hospitals in Little France. There is also an opportunity to investigate creating new work in response to the existing collection.

We are looking for an experienced cultural researcher/artist who is interested in the programming and subsequent design specification of contemporary display units for individual departments’ existing collections of photographs and portraits as well as digitised items from the health archive, to delineate, in a dynamic way, the world-leading tradition of healthcare and medicine in Edinburgh and Lothian.

Stage 1 design fees: £3,500 ex vat. The total budget for this project inclusive of all fees is of the region of £70,000 – £80,000 ex VAT

I am a freelance branding designer with over 10 years experience. I have worked in all types and sizes of agency and am now a one woman band playing to a merry tune with added jazz hands.

Having taken a break from concentrating solely on freelancing to run and design for my husbands digital company I am now back and ready to get my teeth into some lovely branding work, where my heart lives.

I am available to work remotely on a project if this suits your needs or I can come in and seamlessly fit into your studio, I'll even chip into the tea round. I can come in for holiday or maternity cover or just as an extra pair of hands or mind, I love being there when the big idea comes out of the fog in a room of creatives.

I have been an art worker, a Jn and Snr Designer, an Art Director and Creative Director. I am equally happy infront of my mac as I am in client meetings and pitches, dealing with account managers or managing directors.

If you have any requirements you think I may be able to help with don't hesitate to get in touch, i'll even bring the biccies to our kick-off meeting.

Tread carefully though ones biscuit choice says a lot about a person.

Kumquat Design. Small but perfectly formed.

Help! I am working on a contract that will need someone who can design (wait for it) a roundabout! I know, I know... it's circular. But the middles of two particular roundabouts require someone who could take historic cobblestones and turn them into a feature. I need a landscaper/sculptor/designer person. The contract is not signed yet but there will be a commission in this if we can get the right idea. West Lothian. steakerz@gmail.com
