"A changeling: Pale gold in colour. The first nose is estery and Speyside in character, acetone, nail varnish remover, artificial fruit essence particularly bags of dried bananas. With water it changes substantially bringing up curious mechanical scents - Hornby Double O trains, light oil, bakelite, electrical sparks - which fade, except for the oil. The flavour is sweet, drying rapidly, but what makes this unusual is the distinct taste of dried seaweed, bringing to mind beaches, iodine and empty kilns.
