The New Direction for Flash

I've just reached a conclusion point with my recent project using Flash CS4, building a stereoscopic 3D painting App. Not massively big or complex, but still very nice, it even uses the Wiimote for input! (look at me being trendy).
Anyway, I was wondering what other creatives have found using Flash CS4 after using Flash 8, the change of UI and more importantly the addition of Actionscript 3.

Global Games Jam

Well this time last week I was taking part in the Global Games Jam, 48 hours of intense game development!
The GGJ is a yearly event where large groups of artists and programmers meet for the first time, get given a brief, then come up with some ideas and decide, what they want to make and who they want to work with for the next 48 hours. All in the space of a few hours, and usually with complete strangers!

Well thats it for me, I've just finished my last project for the year.

Ah bums......

Well I'm now back from The big smoke, empty handed and tired.
A week of networking and playing video games really takes it out of you.
Anyway I didn't win the coveted Golden Joystick award but I did meet a whole bunch of really nice people, mainly from the fringe events, which were really interesting. The guys at 01 Zero-one are awesome!
