I'm a project manager with Scottish Enterprise, working in the very small but lovely Digital Markets team, developing strategic digital media projects in Scotland. This entails working with partner organisations such as the broadcasters, sector skills councils, companies, government and others.

hi - attended the very informative and engaging channel 4 digital commissioners "gig" at the corinthian today. one of the audience asked how - in relation to 4ip - the three main scottish investment partners of this project can work together, as they appear to work towards widely differing artistic / commercial / innovation objectives. i didn't get (take!) the chance to say - its pretty simple!

Sore Backs and Paper Backs

Once again I watched my 11 year old son take off to school with a rucksack that would best a circus strongman. There's been lots written about the detrimental long term effects on the posture and spines of young people lugging so much around. Why does this still happen?

I was playing around with one of the newest Sony e-readers, which got me thinking. You could probably fit every book needed for the entire 4-6 years of high school on one of these. Probably weighs less than a hardback novel.

It's one and the same. There was a distinct shortage of drummers in Dunoon in 1993-5, when he asked me to join him and some pals for a just-for-fun band. But we were pretty good, really...
