NESTA
What brings you to 38minutes?
I work across our creative economy and public service innovation programmes; mainly on encouraging creative enterprise skills and supporting older people to design and deliver new community ventures – here’s a quick rundown of the programmes; please do get in touch if you’d like any more info on the work we do in Scotland:

Creative Enterprise Toolkit
Our toolkit is a collection of tools and resources that NESTA has tried and tested over a number of years, working with creative entrepreneurs (through running programmes like Starter for 6). The pack has been specifically written for creatives thinking of starting-up – our USP compared to other traditional business programmes is that we focus on developing the idea and the person, rather than just concentrate on the business idea. We’ve been working with Universities and colleges across the UK to imbed the materials into creative courses and the materials have now also been translated in various different languages! The toolkit is free to download here – www.nesta.org.uk/enterprise-toolkit

Peer Mentoring Guide
We ran a successful peer mentoring programme for early stage creative start-ups – We gave creative entrepreneurs who had been trading for a couple of years some mentoring skills training and then paired them with new start-ups. Peer mentoring is different from the typical mentor/protégé relationship as mentors remember the challenges of starting up like it was yesterday! The mentees benefitted from speaking to someone who was an achievable stage (still facing the challenges but still doing it!). This downloadable guide talks through how to set-up a peer mentoring programme for creatives. http://bit.ly/gxIosA

So who has come across Voxur?

Great blog piece about why I've been trailing the country with a massive yellow suitcase! Thanks to the wonderfully succinct Johanna Basford whose voxur antics should be displayed here soon:
