I got an email from my brother yesterday morning. It said 'Farah Fawcett, Steven Wells and Sky Saxon have all died today. What a strange day for dying.' An hour later I saw the first rumours of Michael Jackson's death on Twitter. Very strange day.

Just an update on the Wiki as proposed above. According to 4ip it's 'too similar' to the Central Station project, so won't be taken further by 4ip. This is a surprise to me - I look forward to seeing the Central Station Long Tail of Art Wiki or si...

Hi Ivan, David Brown suggested you may be able to help me. I would like to be able to send a 12 track album in mp3 format by email. When the recipient receives the email they can click on a widget or button which enables them to download the 12 track album. Is this something that you are able to build? If so what would the costs be? Hope you can help, thanks!

Hey Ivan great to see you on this site - a project we put up for the Scottish/Irish scene. There's aguy on here by the name of Damien Smith of ISO seriously talented and working with us on the arts aggregation project - Central Station. Sure we can use it as a mechanism to motivate the 'art of widgets' concept so let's all make sure we meet up. Ewan McIntosh of 4iP is across it too.

ambITion: implementing integrated IT and digital developments

For my blog Arts Funding Detective I want to write about this organisation: AmbITion. It's right up my street and hopefully your street as well, as it's about 'helping organisations achieve their 21st century sustainability ambitions through implementing integrated IT and digital developments'.

Why the need for AmbITion?

Other sectors have recognised and responded to some specific challenges and opportu

Long Tail of Art Wiki

Just submitted a new 4iP proposal to build a Long Tail of Art Wiki:

A huge amount of visual art is produced across the UK each year. Fascinating work comes and goes, often subsidised by the various Arts Councils and other institutional funders or scraped together by eager artists or hosted by art schools. But mostly when it's done, it's done. There is no record of the everyday everywhere art and artists. There is no way to take a look across the UK at the big picture. When the show is done, it… Continue

First 4iP project out the gates

Jemima Kiss at the Guardian blog reports that the first 4iP project has been released, and it's a football community tool.

"First off the blocks is #FC, a community conversation tool for football clubs that uses the messaging platforms Twitter and Jaiku. The mastermind is Rick Waghorn, subject of yesterday's Elevator Pitch for his 'Addip… Continue

Electronic Arts Symposium headed to Belfast

I just had coffee with an old friend of mine at Brighton University who told me she had become Director of ISEA. And that the next ISEA is at the University of Ulster in association with Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, 23 August - 1 September 2009. Such a great event and right in 38minutes territory.
