(Multi-)touching the Future: A brief roundup of Scottish Multi-touch Research

Guardian media looking to hire blogger in Edinburgh (fully paid!)

The topic of citizen journalism, old/new media has been a favourite topic of mine this past week after Jeff Ullman mentioned the “death of newspapers” in his talk. To my surprise, the Guardian announced that they are building a blog focused on local media, and for some unknown reason, has chosen Leeds, Edinburgh and Cardiff. Plus, they are advertising for a position of a local blogger! And we’re not just talking about “pay per blog” type of job – but a real job. With money attached. In fact, it’… Continue

Interactive Mortgage Guide for Microsoft Surface

In the past week, I’ve been working on an interactive mortgage guide as part of an entry into the Touch Finance Competition.

After speaking to users, and looking at FSA regulations, here is one solution to making it easier to choose the perfect mortgage for you :)

"The Interactive Mortgage Guide is designed to take advantage of the multi-touch capability of Microsoft Surface to help you make sense of the variety of mortgage options available. The Natural User Interface (NUI) enables us to giv… Continue

Hi Kate,
just wanted to say thank you so much for choosing me to receive the techfluff.tv's iPhone Boot Camp sholarship.
I really wanted it as I am on my way of becoming iPhone apps developer and this is a
great opportunity for me.

Thank you again,

hey Kate - at the present moment, I'm working on developing a lifestreaming space for a new course on digital culture starting in September. We're going to assess the lifestream (!), so need to figure out where to put it so we don't worry about the service disappearing on us. I'm trying the lifestream plugin for Wordpress MU at the moment, which is going to work well, I think.

Ask me again tomorrow and I'll probably be doing something else! :-)
