TV Festival

Attended the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival last weekend. Hectic, but very interesting, provocative and amusing. Couldn't help noticing "The Wire"s Jimmy McNulty AKA Dominic West, so asked to have a pic with him. I met him first thing in the morning, noticed he had the same stained t-shirt on all day. Stars, eh? I passed on Ant and Dec.

Wife very jealous.

Launch Nights!

In serious danger of being Scottish Enterprises "It Boy", appearing at every party and event going - BUT - 2 big things kicked off on Friday 12 June. The first, the launch of The Hub at the Digital Media Quarter at Pacific Quay.

RDF Scotland Launch

I was very pleased to be invited to the launch party of RDF Scotland last night in Glasgow. After some drinks and nibbles we were treated to a showreel of RDF Scotland's recent and upcoming content - a really exciting and diverse mix of comedy, factual, children's and drama programmes, from Still Game to Location, Location, Location. Really looking forward to what happens next from RDF, Scotlands biggest independent production company. All the best to April and Hamish and all their people in Gla…

Another Exciting Company in Scotland

One of an occasional informal posting about the cool things I see every other day.

My job allows me to connect with some of the most exciting and energising people and companies on the planet - and they are right here in Scotland. I recently visited fellow "38 Min -iter" Giles Lamb of Savalas Sound. The company specialises in all aspects of sound production for film, tv and games, and operate from the Film City Glasgow building in Govan - a stones throw from the Ibrox tube station.

Attended the publication and launch of this today in Ofcom's Glasgow office. The full report can be found here

21% watch TV online, 26% have a DAB digital radio, 7% have watched catch-up TV - less than half the UK average - etc. I'm sure there are points of interest for most of the 38 Minutes community!

Personally, I'd like to know - the statistic which mentions that Scots on average watch 4.1 hours of television per… Continue
