Thanks for an excellent Glasgow Briefing at the Corinthian on Wednesday.
I feel I am now able to present my 4ip ideas in the best possible light and will be submitting a pitch in the next couple of weeks.

Continuing in that is to perhaps make the mistake of the BBC which is to believe its status as a major broadcaster and brand counts for something on the internet. And of course in a way I suppose it does - but it only counts for existing TV audiences and the media industry (a social network) of which it is already part.
Is it worth pitching an idea to you guys for a site which does something similar to showusabetterway but FOR 4IP... something which gets the word out there, provides the access for individuals with good ideas and gives us media types some real competition?
If we're quoting Paine, then here's my favourite part: "Paine helped invent... a very different institution, dominated by individuals expressing their opinions. The idea that ordinary citizens with no special resources, expertise or political power - like Paine himself - could sound off, reach wide audiences, even touch off revolutions"
Anyway, I had a question about this 'voice for everyone' notion which came from Why magazine. It also ties in with the idea that some of the most successful sites, of which Patient Opinion is a good example, were started by members of the public who created these sites out of passion rather than to win a piece of the 4IP fund.
My question is - can members of the public/individuals put in ideas for 4IP and are there any initiatives currently underway which spread the word to all people and the truly oddly talented (i.e. ground level folk who have day jobs) rather than just the media, production, gaming businesses etc? In my view, 38 minutes is brilliant but dangerously specific to the media industry and NOT the individuals concerned.
What do you think?
Just wanted to say it was really inspiring to hear so many big players getting behind the industry I'm desperate to play a bigger part in and it's made me rethink whether I need to move down to London to further my career.
I'm not sure I've got one of the killer ideas yet but as station manager at Radio Magnetic I'm definitely someone that has the skills to participate and enhance a project.
I look forward to hearing the first results come through and see you at the next 4ip party.
