I'm station manager at Radio Magnetic
I also run The Beat Delivery
Tell us what you're passionate about in digital media or creativity
I'm passionate about the full shebang as far as New Media goes so instead I'll tell you some of the projects I've been a part of.

Radio Magnetic: I'm now station manager of the station which involves everything from content management, marketing, distribution, opening new channels, creating new business and content ideas. Basically I take care of everything except the advanced coding and finance side of things.

The Learning Game : I carried out varies web 2.0 consultancy and research work for TLG which culminated in heading up the first steps into social networking by any UK Commercial Education company.
My main role was directing an entry strategy for TLG into Bebo as well as content management and production. This was a very successful project but wasn't without it's problems and caused quite a stir in the Scottish and English education sectors.

The Beat Delivery : Although this is now my trading name it started as my first foray into business. TBD was a street level pr and marketing company distributing material for the best underground venues and promoters in Glasgow. This was a great success until I changed tac and went head first into new media.

The Secret Garden Festival : I have been on the site crew of this award nominated festival for the past 4 years and have worked through the ranks to become assistant site manager with the possibility of becoming a stage manager during the event.

If you'd like any more info about these projects or my future ambitions feel free to PM or email me while my online portfolio is in construction.

Teaching in Second Life Hits The Beeb

Been listening to daytime Radio 1 for the first time in a long while, it's just as bad as I remembered.

However, Newsbeat did report a story about a school in England pioneering the use of Second Life in the classroom. Although I'm not a fan of the adult version of Second Life it seems like these kids are enjoying it.

Will post notes. soon

Nick Smmons is up now but not very interesting. has been talking about the new BBC Scotland building and now has a big black and white picture of a spider web (cliche). Also talking about what web 2.0 means… Continue
