Social Media - the web's wild child?

The internet is dead long live the (next) thing...

When Corporates kidnap technology we should all be fitted with bullshit detectors - not the most popular idea but hang in there...

I've been involved in web related business since about 1996 and it has been a wild journey. The early days were full of kids in bedrooms abandoning masturbation in favour of calling themselves web designers because they understood html and had a pirate copy of dreamweaver (then…

6 Tips on How to Deal With Negative Comments on Blogs, Twitter or Facebook

astroturfing

It’s not really an excuse to say your business didn’t know and it’s not an excuse for your employees to say they didn’t know. If you or your employees are interacting with the public on-line, you have to be transparent. It’s not acceptable to pretend to be an unbiased member of the public. Putting the "public" back in public relations

There are still many people out there who believe that public relations is entirely about getting ‘name checks’ for clients in the newspapers.

It is true that many PR campaigns incorporate media relations as one element in a communications strategy. But, to take such a narrow view is to miss out on the real potential of public relations. The clue is in the name: “public” relations!

Every organisation has constant opportunities to communicate with its publics – from the… Continue

Facebook Places - has the time for geolocation apps arrived?

Although us in Europe haven't been privileged with the advent of Facebook Places yet, I can't explain how extremely excited I am about this new service. I have closely followed the growth and development of foursquare and understand the value of it as a marketing and engagement tool for brands, but have yet to really feel it is really worth investment. Until it has a larger user-base, I don't quite feel I can recommend it to our clients as a key social media channel to invest in,… Continue

Content & Consolidation : Bing, Project Canvass, Newspass, and Disney's Facebook App for tix

Microsoft’s Bing has been around for just over a year, trying to cause a revolution in the search and location services market. But it hasn't got the market share that I expected.
