New games - new SG.biz

[Shameless plug] Following the success of 38Minutes and brazenly copying the cool digital media people hereabouts, I've just changed the scottishgames.biz website from a Typepad blog, to a NING ring. GROUPS! FORUMS! RSS EVERYWHERE! It's the 21st century in all it's glory! Design still underway, but I thought I'd let everyone know and get things moving sooner rather than later. Now, if I can only figure out how to try and link ning rings together... New editorial, new analysis and more posts t… Continue

Got A View On Videogames?

Just a quick pointer to a post on Scottishgames.biz (and handily mirrored on the group of the same name, here on 38Minutes...) The Department of Culture, Media & Sport's consultation into the Byron Report ends on the 20th of November. They're looking for input on the current ratings system, both the mandatory side, which is overseen by the BBFC and the industry-drive… Continue

If so, the chances are you are over 55 and were brought up watching a monochrome television set. New research suggests that the type of television you watched as a child has a profound effect on the colour of your dreams. While almost all under 25s dream in colour, thousands of over 55s… Continue

We Want... Information!

Or at least I do. A question which cropped up a few times at yesterday's 4IP networking event was - where do I find out more about all these interesting companies? Which is a fair point. While Scotland has several news services, publications and sites dedicated to specific sectors (AllMediaScotland, Scottishgames, The Drum, Young Company FinanceContinue

Men With Knives

When I am not playing, writing about, talking about, or spitting fury at people because of games, I enjoy cooking. No really. I do. It's a totally geek sort of pastime. You need an obsessive attention to detail, you get to play with cool/scary gadgets and tools and unlike being able to field-s… Continue

vaguely tangental

People complain about blogging, citizen journalism and the rise of the 'amateur'. It's nice to see the BBC tackle the issue head on. http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/content/when-hardeep-met-les Aha! Continue
