According to a recent study done by mobile ad network Greystripe, there's a relatively new mobile advertising demographic on the street: iPhone moms. Similar to the "soccer moms" demographic, iPhone moms could be a new consumer segment that has vast potential for advertisers and app developers. Greystripe says that "iPhone moms," which constitute women (with children) who own iPhones, currently make up 29.5% of all iPhone users.

The phenomenon has gone mad on the web this week with profiles in the http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/08/20/AR2..." target="_blank">Washington Post and Tech Crunch and has all the atttributes of a new demographic that agencies can pursue, and feature writers can bore us about.

I smell a Guardian supplement coming on.

What about iPhone grannies and grandpas ? Those baby boomers want all the toys too. Favourites apps on ours so far, Scrabble multi player, just the job for those long winter nights, Foodle so you don't forget the olive oil and SmackTalk to entertain our grandaughter during baby sitting sessions.
