A recently published article on Brand Republic stated that, as of 27-May-09, 33 of the 40 Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists domain names have been registered (both .com and .co.uk) only about 3 being registered previously by the contestants. Similar story with Twitter accounts, including the infamous Susan Boyle.
There are two forms or reasons why people cybersquat. Some are after great domain names that, like real property, they will make an investment from with time by selling to someone who really wants the name. The second reason being to become or act on behalf of that person, which we've seen several times in the media with Twitter accounts.
I know, for a fact, that there are quite a few people on 38minutes who do the former (I hope!) and I'm wondering what you've got your hands on, be it a domain name, Twitter account or anything similar. You never know, a fellow 38minuter might want to buy it from you!
