Education2020 - Islay, 12th June 2009

In a month's time, I'm packing up and heading towards the West Coast of Scotland onto Islay for the Education2020 Unconference.

The unconference is going to be in the same style as BarCamp, and although I haven't worked extensively in e-learning; I'm interested enough to go up, listen and participate in the conversation. It will be interesting to hear what people think the future of education would be like. Personally, I'm intrigued to hear whether it will involve a paperless classroom, and whether we can use augmented reality to for interactive learning purposes.

However, I have a bit of an ulterior motive. The organisers have planned the date perfectly - the day before the Annual Islay Beach Rugby Tournament on Port Ellen. There was fantastic sunshine, with perfect sand and gorgeous blue sea. Our team won the women's competition last year (see below) and we're hoping to defend our title. So here's hoping that it'll be a fantastic weekend.

Incidentally, if anyone is planning to go up, and is based in Edinburgh (or nearby) can you drop me a line? I'm planning to drive up/get a lift ...
