Interface3, the startup I work at in Edinburgh, is a company specialising in educational multiplayer games for iPad for kids aged 4 and up. We're working on three unique titles set for release at the end of the summer, but yesterday announced a collaborative project with the award-winning Ko Lik Films animation house. Together, we're creating a storybook series entitled Not Lost In The Universe - and it's already looking great.
Animation and film studios are becoming more and more involved with digital technology; meanwhile, game developers continue to struggle towards the Holy Grail of telling amazing stories in a great interactive way. So why not bring together the best of both and create something amazing? Not Lost in the Universe will do just that – it’s a storybook which has been written as one, but there’s a lot of game elements in there which have been thought about from day one, and not tacked on afterwards.
