More: Are you a weekend filmmaker and want a chance for your work to appear on Channel 4?
We're asking aspiring directors to submit short 3D clips to help us celebrate our upcoming 3D Season on 4. We want to take the best of your clips and make them into unique trails to announce the 3D programmes in November.
To take part, all you've got to do is be imaginative with the number 4 on screen. Keep things short and sweet - 10-15 seconds of footage is all we're looking for.
If you have already got a 3D camera, then submitting your clip is going to be a doddle, just upload it as a response to this video - but read the terms here as these will apply to the selection process. If you've only got access to digital or traditional cameras, then don't worry, there are just a few more things to prepare before you can create your stand-out clip. You'll also need to borrow a second one from a friend, so have a look at this How To Video for a step-by-step guide to making a 3D film and uploading it to YouTube.
We're asking filmmakers to upload their clips to YouTube because the site offers a great tool for viewing 3D footage. If you search for 'yt3d:enable=true’ in YouTube's search box, you will find 3D films uploaded from YouTubers around the world. If you click to watch one, you'll notice that a drop-down box appears to the right below the player. You can select which 3D glasses you happen to be wearing at the time, and YouTube will automagically prepare the video for those glasses. The 3D glasses we'll be distributing closer to 3D Week are ColourCode lenses, so you'll want to select 'Amber/Blue’ from the drop-down if you're wearing them.
Read the terms and conditions here if you have any questions about the selection process. The deadline for us to receive your clips is November 8th at 5pm, and remember to keep the original files to hand because we'll need those if your clip is selected.
Some eager beavers have already submitted some clips as video responses to our guide. Get some inspiration by having a look at the responses to our video here.
