The New York Times - are they pulling the rabbit out of the hat or grasping at straws?
The Kindle on steroids is the suggestion... not exactly handy on the tube.

But seriously is this the answer or are we going to get our papers available on our screens to read vertically?

Fair point Helen - I've got the complete Shakespeare, Burns and endless out of copyright classics on mine. It would be a small barrow load.

Sort of back on topic:

Reposrts today claim that "Times Online and The Sun.co.uk are likely to start charging for content after News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch indicated such a model could be in place within a year.

Yesterday News Corp, parent company of UK newspaper group News International, recorded a decline in revenues to $7.37bn (£4.89bn) for the first three months of the year compared to $8.75bn (£5.80bn) a year ago.

Profits from its newspapers were down drastically year-on-year from $216m (£118.58m) to $7m (£3.84m), with UK newspaper ad revenues down 21%.

I love my Sony Reader! Forget the chips - imagine going back to carrying half a dozen books every time you take the train to London...

Woke up to the news that my favourite US paper the AnnArbor News is to go online only. This is the site you now have to rely on for campus news and suburban Detroit stories.

I bought the Sony Reader and can't say I'm a convert yet - try eating chips out of one.
