The real world

I've used the Worldmapper.org maps for the last year to explain challenges in education systems and Government policies. Now, they're releasing a book and CR Blog has taken the trouble to reveal some of its innards. A fascinating overview of what the world is really like. The one above, of internet users, shows that with the net alone we are but tapping into a minority of the planet's population. No maps for mobile use, unfortunately, which would make things a bit closer to the actual land mass.

That's a fantastic resource Ewan. Note that you have to have "www." before on the hyperlink, or it doesn't work (they should update their web server). I saw maps likes this a few months ago in this interesting TED talk showing how news shapes what Americans see.
