This is a little off-topic, but we’re excited about the announcement of the next Twestival! In case you were wondering what this is – besides a hybrid of the words twitter and festival – in a nutshell, its an event organised on twitter, by twitter types, for charity:

“In February 2009, Twestival leveraged the Twitter audience to raise more than $250,000 in the most ambitious Twitter fundraising event to date … Tonight at #140conf, the two-day Twitter conference in New York, Twestival organizer Amanda Rose announced the launch of the group’s next event:

“Twestival Local” takes place on September 12th and encourages local groups of Twitter users to host events in aid of their favorite charities.

Registration will be open from July 1st. Rose also announced that Twestival 2010 will be held on February 12th of that year.”

I’m looking forward to the Edinburgh event already! Back in Feb, Tane (@tanepiper) Andrew- (@andrewburnett) – Kirsten (@bureauista) Dave (@davelaw00)and Jim (@jimwolffman) did a great job with EdTwestival! Give a shout here (on StartupCafe) if you’re interested in organising!
