Hi Alan,
You may have seen this opportunity for radio drama? Deadline is very close. 25 minute Doctor Who episode - Yay! They give a detailed brief – and want a maximum 500 word synopsis plus two pages of sample script. I’ve given it a go, drawing on my childhood memories of the show. http://www.bigfinish.com/news/OPPORTUNITY-FOR-NEW-WRITERS or via BBC Writers Room.
All the best,
Mike
Hi Alan. Screenplay deal in comedy, and First Look will consider sitcom, radio and comedy drama. Reviewing other people's scripts is a strengthening process.
As for me, I'm focused on comedy drama. No paid commissions as yet, but enough near-misses to keep my morale up (i.e I must be moving along the right track). I had a short play and a sitcom performed on stage last year.
I'm guessing writing is both a joy and a compulsion? I only regeret coming so late to it. You can see by my avatar that I've led an interesting life.
Interested to know about your production experiences (although I won't reply until the morning - my son up all last night with ear ache).
All the best, Michael
Hi Alan, glad to be in touch. As an aspiring writer, have you had a look at Screenplay Productions First Look? It's been a valuable resource for me these past few months. What genres are you interested in?
